1:50 PM Case study from the Australian Football League (AFL): The Hirer’s Perspective on Safety, Security and Emergency Management
The AFL is one of Australia’s best attended sports, attracting more than 6.8 million attendees annually.
On any weekend it has 9 games running, each with an average of 30,000 spectators.
It is also the only sports hirer in Australia to own a venue – Etihad stadium. In this session, Carla will discuss:
- The Safety Officer Program – dedicated security consultants reviewing security measures at each match and providing real time information back to the AFL Security Function
- Linking in to the Emergency Management Command Structure – The AFL Commander’s role at AFL matches
- Lexer software, geofencing and emergency management tools to communicate with staff during an emergency
